Synovus Delivers More Than 61,000 Meals to Local Food Banks
COLUMBUS, Ga., Oct. 16, 2019 – Synovus team members delivered more than 61,000 meals during the company’s “Feeding Our Future” campaign, which took place over four weeks in September and October. The campaign, a part of Synovus’s Here Matters community outreach program, focused on collecting donations for local food banks and teaching financial literacy classes to those in need across the company’s five-state footprint.
More than 50 food banks — including Feeding the Valley in Columbus — received deliveries from team members, who collected items at all Synovus retail branches and office locations during the campaign. Team members also made direct financial contributions totaling more than $4,600 to a number of food banks. The largest contributing market was Chattanooga, which collected more than 10,000 pounds of peanut butter and jelly for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
Synovus team members also provided more than 260 hours of financial education and training to over 1,000 class participants during campaign.
Launched in 2016, Here Matters focuses company and team member outreach efforts on three areas of local community service: education, needs-based opportunities, and health and wellness.
