Synovus Announces 2022 Jack Parker Scholarship Recipients

Columbus, Ga., Sept. 27, 2022 – Synovus today announced its 2022 Jack Parker Scholarship recipients. This year, the bank awarded 151 scholarships totaling $114,000 to children of Synovus team members across the company’s five-state footprint.

The Jack Parker Scholarship program is named in honor of Jack B. Parker, whose enthusiastic attitude, keen sense of duty and good heart were evident throughout his 44-year career with Synovus. The Jack B. Parker Foundation Inc. manages the scholarship program, awarding college or vocational institution scholarships to Synovus team members’ children who excel academically, demonstrate strong leadership and are involved in activities to improve their communities. Scholarship funds are generated each year through team member donations and internal fundraising activities. Since its inception in 1988, the foundation has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships.

In addition to the annually awarded scholarships, the Jack B. Parker Foundation also recognizes the most outstanding applicant with a Jack Parker Scholar award. Rohan Chandrashekhar, a rising junior at the Georgia Institute of Technology, has been named Synovus’ 2022 Jack Parker Scholar. Chandrashekhar is pursuing a degree in neuroscience and a minor in health and medical sciences. Following graduation, he plans to attend medical school and become a neurosurgeon. Chandrashekhar graduated from Columbus High School in Columbus, Georgia, and is the son of Synovus Operations UAT Environment Specialist Roopa Bangalore.
