Gloria C. Banks

Executive Vice President and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer

Gloria C. Banks is executive vice president and chief ethics and compliance officer for Synovus.

Banks is responsible for developing the compliance and ethics strategy and directing and monitoring the company’s overall compliance and ethics programs. She ensures the bank’s activities comply with all consumer regulatory standards.

With more than 40 years of banking experience, Banks began her career with Synovus in 2012. She previously served as vice president, national corporate risk compliance manager for Comerica Bank.

Banks holds certifications as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager from the Institute of Certified Bankers and a Certified Enterprise Risk Professional from the American Bankers Association. She is a graduate of the American Bankers Association’s National Compliance School, Graduate School of Compliance Management and Risk Management School.

Banks serves on the board of directors of ProSight Financial Association, where she also serves as chair of the Audit Committee. She is a recipient of the Synovus Game Changer Award.

Banks earned a bachelor’s in business administration from Detroit College of Business and a master’s in administration from Central Michigan University.
