Sharon Goodwine

Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Sharon Goodwine is executive vice president and chief human resources officer for Synovus.

Goodwine is responsible for all areas of human resources management, including talent acquisition, HR shared services, benefits, compensation, learning and development, team member relations, performance management, succession planning, regulatory compliance, HR information management and diversity, equity and inclusion. 

Before joining Synovus in 2021, Goodwine served as head of enterprise talent and executive vice president at Wells Fargo, where she held various leadership positions since 2002 and honed her extensive experience in nearly every aspect of HR. Goodwine began her banking career with Trust Company Bank of Georgia in 1995 as a commercial banking management associate.

Goodwine serves on the HR Committee for the Atlanta Mission and completed board service for Freedom School Partners as a member of their Board Development Committee and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. She’s a trustee for Cannon School, serving on the Committee on Trustees. Goodwine is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and Chair of the Talent and Leadership Committee of the Georgia Chamber.

Goodwine earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors from Spelman College.
