Tom Dierdorff
Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking
Tom Dierdorff is executive vice president and head of corporate and investment banking at Synovus.
Dierdorff leads the development and execution of strategic direction for corporate and investment banking, which delivers banking and capital markets solutions to larger, complex and select public and private equity-backed companies. He manages dedicated industry teams that deliver customized and expert advice related to credit and depository products, syndicated and leveraged finance, interest rate derivatives, foreign exchange, debt and equity capital markets solutions, merger and acquisition advisory services, treasury and payment solutions, corporate trust and wealth management.
Before joining Synovus in 2021, Dierdorff served as managing director and financial services group head for Regions Bank and Regions Securities, where he founded the corporate finance and capital markets coverage effort for insurance companies, asset and wealth managers, broker dealers, and non-bank lenders, as well as private equity sponsors active in those sectors. With more than 30 years of financial services experience, he also worked in corporate and investment banking with SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and Wachovia Securities.
Dierdorff serves on the board of directors for Soccer in the Streets. He is also active with Atlanta-based organizations, such as Shepherd Center, Piedmont Park Conservancy, The Episcopal Cathedral of St. Philip and The Westminster Schools.
He earned a bachelor’s in economics and German from Washington and Lee University and an MBA with distinction from Wake Forest University Babcock Graduate School of Management.
