Meet our team in North Florida

A native of Jacksonville, Damon was a high school math teacher and baseball coach for many years before moving to the world of finance. With a degree in banking and finance from the University of North Florida, he first worked at three other Jacksonville-area banks as a specialist in commercial, industrial and commercial real estate lending. He joined Synovus in 2003, initially as president of Synovus Bank of Jacksonville, and became our CEO in 2009. In 2013, he was named CEO of both First Coast Community Bank and Synovus Bank of Jacksonville. As chief executive, Damon is responsible for our client services and financial operations, with a focus on business banking and wealth management. Out of the office, he enjoys “golf, coaching children’s sports, golf, family, golf, reading and golf.” He is a recent grandfather.
