After successfully validating your identity during enrollment, you will be able to create a self-selected Username and Password that will be required to access your account online. For added security, your online session will automatically timeout and log you out after fifteen minutes of inactivity. This ensures that no one can manipulate your online account if you leave your computer logged on. To re-access your account simply return to the “Sign In” page and sign in again.

This 256-bit encryption level is more secure than the standard level of 128-bit. With most browsers, an icon of a key or a lock appears in the bottom toolbar of your screen indicating that you are in an encrypted or secure session and that the information being transmitted is protected and encrypted. To upgrade, please click on one of the following links:

What are FICO® Scores?
FICO® Scores are the most widely-used scores. Each FICO® Score is a three-digit number calculated from the data on your credit reports at the three major consumer reporting agencies—Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax. Your FICO® Scores predict how likely you are to pay back a credit obligation as agreed. Lenders use FICO® Scores to help them quickly, consistently and objectively evaluate potential borrowers’ credit risk.

Visa Account Updater for Personal and Business Cardholders

When my credit card is reissued, do I need to contact each of my merchant that I have recurring payments set-up with to provide the new expiration date?
Synovus utilizes a service from Visa called Visa Account Updater (VAU). If your merchant also utilizes VAU, then we will we will take care of that for you.

What is Visa Account Updater?
Authorized merchants who are enrolled with Visa for the Visa Account Updater (VAU) service receive updates on their customer's card account information originally used to set up recurring payments with the merchant changes. These updates are made when your card is lost/stolen and a new card number is issued, or when it is reissued and the expiration changes.  We will send an update to Visa with the new information and the merchant receives the updated information to prevent your services (cable, utilities, etc.) from being disrupted.

Why does Synovus provide my information to Visa for Visa Account Updater?
Synovus enrolled in the service with Visa to provide a better customer experience for those who use their credit card accounts for recurring payments with authorized vendors/merchants enrolled in the service with Visa. Without this service, you would have to contact the merchant/vendor to update your expiration date to avoid a disruption in service.

Do I have to use the Visa Account Updater Service or can I opt out?
You will need to call the merchant to stop/cancel the recurring payment originally set up with that merchant.
