Allen Barker

Division CEO

Allen’s professional responsibilities have multiplied greatly since he started out with us in 1997 as a commercial banker. Today he’s responsible for managing our business development and commercial, retail and private wealth activities in metro Atlanta and Northwest Georgia. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and LSU Graduate Banking School. In his free time, he’s fond of a round of golf and traveling with family and friends.

Matt McClure

Market Executive

Matt has been with Synovus since 2010 and has more than two decades of banking experience. He believes that banking at its core has historically been about providing financial and advisory support to local businesses, individuals and organizations, which leads to stronger and more stable communities. He holds a B.A. in English, and he is a graduate of the Stonier Banking School and Wharton Business School Leadership Program. Matt is a long-time resident of Forsyth County with his wife and three children. In his free time, he enjoys camping, cooking, and coaching baseball and softball.

Charles M. Barnwell

A life-long banker, Charlie has more than 35 years’ experience helping businesses and individual with their financial needs. He joined Synovus in 2011, “because I was familiar with members of the management team, and respected their management philosophies and style.” A Georgia native, Charlie earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Georgia. Married with four children, when he isn’t working he enjoys working in his yard and attending sporting events.

Cory Jackson

Cory is also very involved in the local Atlanta community and serves on the boards of the Shepherd Center and the National Flag Football League of Atlanta. The Shepherd Center is a hospital specializing in medical treatment, research, and rehabilitation for people with spinal cord injury, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, spine and chronic pain, and other neuromuscular conditions. The National Flag Football League of Atlanta is a premier flag football league that offers individuals of the LGBTQIA community, across all genders, an opportunity to meet and compete without fear of discrimination.
