Hard work and persistence go a long way — just ask Bebo’s Car Wash owner, Doug Klyce.
Son of A.S. “Bebo” Klyce, Doug saw both of these attributes in action when his father purchased a rundown car wash in Mobile, Alabama, in 1981 that serviced 35,000 cars a year. Within a few years after renovations, Bebo's now services more than 185,000 cars annually.
Doug officially joined Bebo’s in 1992 and worked alongside his father to expand the business. Ideas raced through his mind, and Doug was wise enough to know that to give those ideas life, he’d need support from the right bank — one that understood his goals and had faith in his vision.
First, he approached a large bank, which he said “strung me out for months, the whole time promising me they wanted my business.” Tired of the wait, Doug accepted a call from Synovus. With help from Synovus, Doug grew the business to include a convenience store, express wash, oil change, and more.

Today, Bebo’s Car Wash operates in nine locations, and the Synovus relationship with Bebo's has expanded to offer treasury management services, a construction-perm loan, personal accounts, and — Doug’s favorite — our Loomis Remote Vault, which helps Bebo’s employees remain secure and save time on bank-related tasks so they can focus on what the business prides itself on the most: its customers.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Doug has big plans of his own to expand the business into other exciting ventures. Among the possibilities are fresh BBQ and a self-serve dog wash.
