Frederick G. Williams
Market President
Upstate Region, South Carolina
Fred has a unique perspective on his role as a banking market executive. “My products are financial services, but my business is people,” says Fred. As a banker for 34 years, Fred has helped companies and customers with their financial needs, which has allowed him to become their trusted advisor. Fred earned his bachelor’s from Presbyterian College and is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of South Carolina, additionally he is a graduate of the American Bankers Association National Commercial Lending School. Fred is married and has three adult sons; his hobbies are golf, walking, and reading.

Jennifer Polson
Retail Market ManagerA South Carolina native, Jennifer Polson serves as a Retail Market Manager. With 23 years of experience, she is passionate about her customers and industry, and in particular Synovus. “Synovus is a ‘big’ bank, but with a community feel,” she says. ‘I love the way it wants you to be involved in your local community.” A recent move from Greer to Spartanburg has her excited to be working in a new market and a new community.

Amanda Whisnant
Private Wealth Advisor
A banker for over 13 years, Amanda joined Synovus in 2017 to lead the retail and business banking efforts in Anderson, South Carolina. When the Anderson branch closed, Mandi transitioned to Private Wealth and is now covering the Greenville and Anderson markets. “I’m excited to be part of Synovus, a bank that truly values its deep roots in hometown banking,” Amanda says. “Immediately I could tell the leadership here has a strong focus on cultivating a family atmosphere and delivering a personal touch.”
A long-time resident of South Carolina, Amanda earned her bachelor’s degree from the South Carolina Bankers School of Business Management. In her free time, Amanda leads a busy life with her husband, Chad, and their four children. Amanda and Chad are both active volunteers with the March of Dimes and at their local church.
