Another exciting round of partnership
Golf entrepreneur, author and shoe designer Edgar Evans, Jr., knows firsthand the value of finding the right partner. We’re thrilled to deepen our relationship with Edgar as we launch a new era as Pinnacle Financial Partners.
Meeting the moment
As the head golf coach at historic Morehouse College, Edgar helps prepare the next generation of leaders to fulfill their potential. “I want them to learn they can work hard and get what they want in life, regardless of their circumstances.”
Edgar’s commitment to financial education is one we’re particularly proud to share. At the workshops he co-hosts with financial advisors from Pinnacle, Edgar shows the young participants how to apply discipline to their budgeting and introduces them to a sport that has become synonymous with networking and career advancement.
Edgar freely acknowledges learning lessons about money the hard way. “I made so many mistakes, especially right out of college,” adding, “Everything we’re doing with this youth program is something I wish I’d had when I was a kid.” His goals now include expanding the workshops beyond metro Atlanta to South Florida. In this video, Pinnacle executive Liz Wolverton joins Edgar to reminisce about his vision when he was seeking sponsors for his television series. The result was “Saturday Foursome,” which would go on to reach fans worldwide as part of Delta Air Lines’ in-flight entertainment.
More recently, he joined celebrated golf broadcaster Mark Immelman on his “On the Mark” podcast. In an article marking National Golf Day, the two coaches, along with their fellow brand ambassador Russell Henley, offered perspectives on the game.

Spending even a few minutes around Edgar is almost certain to leave you inspired. The author and entrepreneur recently invited us to come along as he shared his range of passions.
National Golf Day is May 10
The game of golf is known for its spectacular surroundings. For Edgar, National Golf Day offers a chance to appreciate how the game can change players old and new on the inside as well.
